There will be security guards at the Westgate Transport Hub and at all Park and Ride and Park and Walk facilities at all times.

They will only leave once the Park and Ride or Park and Walk venues are closed.

Volunteers will also be available to guide spectators.

SAFETY TIPS

While every effort is made to keep people safe, no city is totally free from crime and we urge everyone to be vigilant and take note of the following safety tips:

• Do not expose valuables such as jewels and mobile phones;
• Keep equipment such as cameras on your person at all times;
• Do not walk alone, especially at night;
• Be wary of pick-pocketing in crowds;
• If you are new to the city, use main routes when travelling and stay in well-lit areas at night;
• Don’t stop on the side of roads in case of hijacking;
• Do not hitch-hike or pick up strangers; and
• Be aware in your vehicle at intersections and keep bags stowed out of sight.
