T HERE are two transport hubs operating during the World Cup: at the Westgate Station in the Joburg CBD and one in Sandton.
WESTGATE STATION HUB
There will be a variety of transport options converging at Westgate Station, on the corner of Anderson Street and Pat Mbatha Bus and Taxi Way in the Johannesburg CBD.
Buses can be caught from Lanseria Airport, OR Tambo International Airport, Sandton, Pretoria, Bloemfontein, Polokwane, Rustenburg, or Nelspruit to take you to Westgate Station on match days.
From Westgate Station you can then take a Rea Vaya bus or Metrorail to the stadium.
If you arrive at the Westgate Station early, you can take in the atmosphere at the Public Viewing Site at Mary Fitzgerald Square in Newtown.
Make sure that you are at the Transport Hub at least two hours before the match – ensuring a safe and timely arrival at the stadium for the big event.

SANDTON METROBUS HUB
On match days Metrobuses will run from the Sandton Transport Hub to the Westgate Transport Hub every 10 minutes.
Fans can take the Metrobus to the Westgate Transport Hub and from there catch either a Rea Vaya bus or Metrorail train to the stadium.
Tickets cost:
- R20 one way to Westgate Transport Hub
- R40return from Westgate Transport Hub
- R50 return to the Westgate Transport Hub including a Rea Vaya ticket to the stadium
The buses will pass the Sandton Convention Centre
These tickets can be bought for cash on the buses.
Buses will travel from Innesfree Park in Sandton, through Rosebank via Oxford Road, and on to the Westgate Transport Hub.
They will stop at all Sandton stops on the route to pick up fans.
The Sandton routes covers: Sandton, Rosebank, Killarney and Forest town.
Starts at Katherine – right into Grayston Drive – along Grayston Drive – left into West Street – along West Street – right into Rivonia Road, along Rivonia Road – becoming Oxford Road – along Oxford Road – left onto the M1 South at Ettrick – along M1 South – Left Selby Offramp – left into West Street – along West Street – left into Anderson Street – along Anderson Street to the corner of Rideout Rea Vaya Station
