On Friday 19th February, representatives of the City of Johannesburg met with members of the United Taxi Association Forum (UTAF) in respect of Rea Vaya BRT.
The meeting was at their request and discussed the concerns that they have with the extension of Rea Vaya BRT services and their participation in the negotiation process.
The City of Johannesburg is encouraged by the fact that UTAF has members who wish to become participants in negotiations.
In respect of their participation in the negotiation process a further meeting will be held on Monday 22nd February with the Independent Facilitators who have been mandated by the Executive Mayor to seek ways of facilitating their inclusion in the negotiation process.
The City of Johannesburg remains optimistic that all role-players will become part of the successful unfolding partnership between the City and the Taxi Industry in regard the successful implementation of the pioneering public transport project which Rea Vaya BRT has become.
Rea Vaya. Safe. Reliable. Clean. Affordable.
